They started small, with just a handful of trucks and a handful of people who believed in the vision. The Early Days

Back in 2019, KSM delivered their first 53 pharmaceutical loads with just a few trucks on the road. The company’s founders had the ambition, but they needed the right kind of support to scale it up. That’s where we came in.

From the beginning, Superior took over all parts of their operations: Recruiting, Marketing, Accounting, Safety Risk and Claims, Maintenance, and Dispatch.

By 2020, their fleet grew and so did the load count. That year, they safely delivered 905 pharmaceutical shipments. Growth wasn’t just a plan anymore. It was happening.

Building a Name

Over the years, we worked side by side with the KSM team. We helped build a recruiting strategy that attracted skilled drivers. We managed operations that kept the trucks moving around the clock. Our safety department implemented protocols and supported compliance. Our accountants made sure their books, payroll, and reporting stayed on track. Our maintenance team made sure that their trucks were always ready to go. And the marketing team? We made sure people heard about it with a modern rebranding that gave KSM a fresh, professional look and positioned them for even more growth in a competitive market.

A Game-Changing Year

2023 was a turning point. KSM made a series of major investments, and we were behind every single move.

• 4 new Volvo trucks and 8 Freightliner Cascadias were added to the fleet.
  
  
• They kicked off the year by investing in 20 pharma-ready utility trailers from ThermoKing.
  
  
• Just months later, they added another 40 pharma trailers and 20 Vanguard dry vans.
  
  
• To close the year, they brought in 16 brand-new Kenworth T680s and 11 more dry vans.

Altogether, that was a $10 million investment - planned, managed, and scaled with our teams supporting every department behind the scenes.

More Trucks, More Trailers, More Trust

In early 2024, KSM added another 5 Freightliner Cascadia units. And this wasn’t just about quantity. Every truck they brought in so far had to meet strict standards: door sensors, lock enforcers, dash cameras, geofencing, and validated cold chain equipment.

Now they’re certified for TTSPP’s and backed by a GDP certification, SmartWay partnership, ISO standards, TWIC and TSA certified drivers, and a strong QMS in place.

Today, the average age of their equipment is just 1.5 years. That means better safety, fewer breakdowns, and a stronger image for their brand. And yes, we’ve had a hand in all of that too.

Recognized in the Industry

In 2022 and 2023, KSM was awarded as the Top Performing Healthcare Carrier in the U.S., presented by Kuehne + Nagel. That’s not something you just get handed. It’s earned through consistent performance, trust, and a setup that works around the clock.

That kind of recognition doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when a team is fully supported - from dispatch to accounting, from driver hiring to maintenance.

New Markets, Same Drive

KSM crossed another line in 2024, literally. They expanded operations to include cross-border shipping into Canada. And plans to roll into Mexico are already in motion. They’re also preparing for a new major move: building their own KSM Central terminal.

They’ve set their sights on the West Coast next, showing that growth isn’t slowing down any time soon.
